We Love PETBOX!

Hi everyone! Last week I had the pleasure of meeting some of the PetBox team as well as some of their office dogs :) In case you don't already know, PetBox is a subscription you can purchase for your beloved dog (or cat!) so they can receive a fun surprise every month! The moment I learned this company was based close to home I knew I had to check it out. Not only are they local, but they also provide quality products that my dogs are able to try out and they introduce us to awesome companies we have never heard of before.

What makes PetBox different from other pet subscription boxes is that YOU are able to choose what you receive in your box. However, if your are like myself and enjoy surprises, you have the option of choosing to have a box put together for your pet by the PetBox team.  What made me love PetBox even more is the fact that they give back. For every box that is shipped, they feed a rescue animal and partner with shelters and rescues all over the U.S. to help care for the neglected animals. They have teamed up with BOGO Bowl to donate food and supplies to shelters/rescues (nominated by us!!) each week.

Tuck and Jeice received their first PetBox this past weekend and got a bunch of fun treats! Everything sent this month was chosen for us and we are already excited to try choosing what comes in our box next month just to see what other awesome items they have available. They offer toys, treats, food, supplements and more...all made in the USA! I will have a review up shortly on the goodies we received in our May box.

*also included was a Hyrdo Ball but the boys were too busy playing with it at the time of this shot :p*

PetBox offers a variety of plans starting at $29/mo and you are guaranteed a minimum retail value of $50 in every box! Great deal if I do say so myself :) did I mention that shipping is free? (score!!!!) If you are interested in giving them a shot, use lovetuckblog at checkout to receive 50% your first month! If you have tried PetBox already or plan to soon, lemme know what you think in the comments below!

Snake bites, heat waves and wild fires OH MY!

Hi all! I am pretty sure a lot of you are familiar with Muprhy's Law where anything that can go wrong will go wrong...well, that pretty much sums up the last couple weeks! Remember that post a little while ago where I shared my horror story of Tuck being stung by a bee and learning that he is deathly allergic? Just a couple short days after that my little, sweet boy was bitten by a freakin' rattlesnake! What are the chances?! Rattlesnakes are very common in San Diego and 'tis the season. He was in critical condition for about 8 hrs and it was just a nightmare. I almost lost my little pumpkin!! It took about two weeks for Tuck to fully recover but I am very happy/lucky to announce that he is doing well now.

We had a crazy heat wave the past two weeks here in socal where it was miserably hot. I don't know about you, but I don't handle heat well. at all. Since Tuck was doing much better since his incident with the bee AND rattlesnake, we did make frequent trips to the beach which was really nice. Besides the sand being ridiculously hot where my dog was yelping in pain and hopping like a bunny it was a blast..my boyfriend had to carry him the rest of the way and we were forced to stay in the water but I have to admit, there was no other place I would rather be! :)

Lastly, we had some CRAZY wildfires here about a week ago! There were a total of I think 9 fires that were taking place all at the same time. The first one started a couple blocks away from my home!! I was at work at the time and was worried that the fire would spread...which it eventually did but the direction it was headed in didn't affect any homes or buildings. We were on alert the first 24 hours since we did not know whether or not we were going to be evacuated. Honestly, if we were asked to evacuate I was ready to just grab my dogs, my purse, and maybe my laptop. Needless to say we were thankfully not evacuated, however, the other fires that sparked caused some of my family and close friends to evacuate. They were able to return home this past weekend with no damages!! Considering the amount of acres that were affected, there was limited damage and I am so, SO very grateful for all the firefighters and officers that took care of my city <3 This situation could have been much worse than it was.

Now that everything is settling in again I am looking forward to being around the blogging world more often :)

Talk to you soon! xx

Sweet Treats: Pupsicles

Hey everyone! It has been ridiculously hot all day and it is only supposed to get warmer the rest of the week.  I would like to consider myself as a fairly active person so I do get hot fast when I'm out and about. Tucker and Jeice love running their sweet hearts out no matter what the weather is but I notice their energy level doesn't seem to last nearly as long when temps are high so we usually head home to relax and cool down sooner than usual. I love sippin on iced tea or even [several] glasses of water to stay cool so I figured I would make something to help cool off my little pups too!

As a special treat, I like to spoil my boys with doggy friendly ice cream from a local pet store but I wanted to try something different today so I decided to make my own! It's incredibly easy and doesn't require a ton of ingredients.

Since this was my first time I just eyeballed everything. I used greek yogurt, bananas, creamy peanut butter and a dash of honey! Some of the puppy ice cream I made had to be eaten in the cup because I didn't think to include some sort of handle. The dixie cups I used were definitely durable for that. I added baby carrots to the rest of them which the boys really enjoyed!

There are plenty of variations that I plan to experiment with going into summer :) If you have any puppy treats you like to make or use to keep your pets cool, I'd love to hear about them!

Talk to you soon!! xx
