What I Want: Wednesdays #5

Hi everyone! I can't believe I'm already on wiw: w#5! This means I have already been blogging for about a month now:) aww.../end-random-thought.

Anyway, since the weather has been getting cooler here, I have been looking for sweaters and outerwear to eventually add to my closet.  I found this Wildfox Fox Face Sequin sweater at revolveclothing.com and immediately put it on my wishlist for Christmas! I mean, how adorable is this?!

I would love to style it with a circle skirt and accessorize with booties and simple gold jewelry.  This would also look amazing as part of a layered look! Speaking of layers, I've been doing a bit of layering lately and I'm thinking about doing a couple outfits of the week posts featuring that so keep an eye out for those :)

For Pet Parents | Salmon Oil

Happy Tuesday everyone! This morning I fed my little fur baby his breakfast and mixed in his daily dose of salmon oil. Just like humans, dogs benefit from omega-3 fatty acids as well. Not only does it help keep lubricate their skin and fur soft, but it also helps their joints, brain development, and organ health. Sure, Omega-3 can be found in a lot of pet food already but not in sufficient amounts so it can be extremely beneficial to add to their diet.

I have tried 3 different brands of salmon oil and the one I like the most (and I'm assuming Tuck does too) is the "Mmmm...Salmon Sauce" by I And Love And You. I really like how it doesn't smell as fishy as the other the ones, in fact, it doesn't really smell at all. I have been using it for about a month now and have seen great improvement in Tucker's coat! His skin has been dry lately so it was a relief to see the reduced amount of flakiness. I had to stop giving him salmon oil for a little while because the one I used before gave him diarrhea (tmi...sorry) and I thought it was salmon oil in general but turns out it was just the brand and that's why I switched.

I have been trying different products from I And Love And You because of reasons that you can find in my previous post, here...I love everything this company is about:) *and no, this is NOT sponsored.

It is so hard to find companies out there who truly care about animal health. I am so happy to have found one that does! To me, Tucker is more than a pet, he's family and he deserves to be happy and healthy.

**I am in no way a professional about this sort of stuff so make sure to consult your vet before starting anything like this.**

Mini Makeup Haul

Hi everyone! I ran to the store today to pick up some things and because I'm a blogger I felt the need to share it lol what can I say?! I know I'm not the only one!  #bloggerlife.

1. The first thing I picked up (& the only reason why I need to stop by the store anyway) was for the Great Lash eyebrow gel. I haven't tried this product yet but I've heard that it works pretty well. I never really paid too much attention to my eyebrows until recently so we'll see how it goes. I'm new to the eyebrow thing so if you have any tips or certain products you like to use, please let me know!

2. Right next to the lash gel was their eyeshadow so I decided to pick up the 24hr color tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. The only other shade I own from this collection is Tough as Taupe and I really like the formula so I thought, why not? I heard this looks great on its own and as a base.

3. Strolling down the aisle a little more I found the lip products. I have been a HUGE fan of the color whispers ever since they came out but I have only owned 3 shades and for some reason would repurchase just those 3 instead of branching out and trying others. I decided today was going to be the day to change that, so instead of picking cherry on top, rose of attraction, or made-it mauve, I chose the shade berry ready. It is a gorgeous color for fall and winter!!

4. Next, I picked up the Baby Lips medicated balm in soothing sorbet. With the weather acting the way it has, my lips have been getting dry more frequently so I thought this would be perfect to keep in my car to help keep my lips soft, hydrated, and smooth.

5. Lastly, I got the cocoa butter Vaseline lip therapy. This stuff is ah-mazing! I put in on my lips at night and it helps keep my lips hydrated throughout the night. I also apply this in the morning before I apply any other lip products.

Guess I've got a thing for Maybelline products at the moment! I've been shopping more drugstore brands lately since they have all definitely stepped up from where they were a few years ago and they just keep getting better. Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what you think of them.

Getting Fit!

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday so far:) I have been on a huge health kick lately so that is pretty much what inspired today's post. I am a busy girl with work, school, a dog, a blog and a social life I like to keep up with and I do what I can to not let those things interrupt me from eating better and staying active. I used to eat out A LOT before just because it was easy and I didn't really take the time to make anything at home because the thought of dishes really bothered me. In addition, my exercise only consisted of taking Tucker out for walks or on a hike and occasional jogs. I didn't like the result of my actions and I just felt miserable so I decided to do something about it and I am SO glad I did!

I am more active now than I have ever been and I haven't really gone out to eat. With those two changes alone I've seen tremendous results! I have been taking the time to cook at home which has been really helpful because I have been able to pick and choose what and how much of something goes into my body. I am currently in school for Public Health so the more I learn about wellness, nutrition and exercise, the more I like to incorporate those things into my life. I make it a point to get some sort of exercise daily because nothing good will come from sitting on my butt all day! I set a goal for myself and I know it's going to take a lot of work to get there but I know I will definitely appreciate this when I get older. As a result for achieving that goal, I'm going to let myself go on a little shopping spree. It's not bad to set up a little incentive is it? :) Besides, I get to save some money in the process!

I am really into cardio and pilates right now and I love having great music to workout to! I change out my playlist often but this is my favorite playlist at the moment:

John Mayer- Wildfire
OneRepublic- Counting Stars
Ke$ha- C'Mon
Macklemore-  Can't Hold Us
Katy Perry- Roar
Justin Timberlake- TKO
Zedd ft. Hayley Williams- Stay The Night
Krewella- Alive
Krewella- Live For the Night
Paramore- Still Into You
Tim Berg (Avicii edit)- Seek Bromance

I'd like to know what you favorite workout songs are! Leave them in a comment below. Also, how do you like to stay fit?

Peanut Butter/Oatmeal+Chocolate Chip cookies

Hi everyone! I want to share this quick, easy, and better for you cookie recipe that I have been obsessed with lately. I had to do some baking this morning because we're having a dessert potluck at work and since I have been doing a great job of staying away from cupcakes, brownies, cake and all the other good stuff, I wanted to make something that isn't extremely unhealthy but still yummy. I usually eyeball my measurements when I bake so this isn't 100% accurate but its close enough! Most of you may be familiar with this already, if so I'd love to read about what you use if it's different from this, I like having a variety of options :)

peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookies:
1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
1 1/4 Cup quick oats
1/2 Cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. baking soda
handful dark chocolate chips (I use ghirardelli chips!)

1. Preheat oven to 350degrees and prep cookie sheet.
2. Mix peanut butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
3. Add the egg until blended, mix in the oats, then baking soda.
4. Sprinkle a handful of chocolate chips.
5. Drop tablespoons of mixture onto cookie sheet about an inch apart and bake for approximately 7 minutes.
6. Let them cool off and enjoy:)

Like I mentioned, this is extremely easy and quick. I really like how filling these are!  The chocolate chips definitely help satisfy my sweet tooth without having to indulge in something super sweet.

Let me know what your favorite sweets are:)

Favorite Cold Weather Accessories

Hi everyone! it is finally starting to cool off a little bit in southern California so I was extremely happy to finally wear a couple of my all time favorite cold weather essentials for more than five minutes today :) I say cold weather because to be honest, we don't really have fall or winter here! My two all-time favorite accessories for cooler weather are:

1. Beanies!! specifically the ones that have the little pompom or little ball on top. I used to be more of a fan of the slouchy ones, and I still am, but lately I have really been into these. I was running late this morning and didn't have time to do my hair so I threw a beanie on and it made the perfect accidental addition to my outfit. I forgot how much I love beanies and the styles are adorable this season. The two down below are my go-tos and are currently available at Forever 21 in case any of you are interested!

2.  Boots! I don't discriminate against any style in particular but I am loving the combat boot trend right now. Well, combat boots and ankle boots are my absolute favorites at the moment! I love how they can be worn with anything. I especially love the way they look with dresses! These are my newest boots that recently made their way into my collection. I have been wearing these so much recently!

I'm hoping this cooling trend will continue, I have a lot of warmer clothing and accessories that I am looking forward to style and wear!

What are your favorite cold weather accessories?  Let me know<3

What I Want: Wednesdays#4

Hi everyone! I found this black Leroy Street Davies bag while shopping on katespade.com and it was love at first sight. I am in currently in the process of trying to stop carrying the entire world with me and downsized to a small Michael Kors bag but this one looks like it would be the perfect size. The only larger items I carry with me are a water bottle and whatever book I'm reading at the time, which I usually have to hand carry since my MK bag is too small. On a sidenote, I love the feeling of flipping through pages of a book so yes, I still carry actual books. I love the shape, size and I think we can all agree the gold spade hardware is just perfect! My favorite feature is that the main compartment has a magnetic closure,as opposed to a zipper, which makes everything inside that much easier to access.

Is there a bag you have your eyes on? If so, let me know in a comment down below :)
